River Counselling Services, based in Langport, Somerset, offers counselling services to our local community, including a low-cost counselling agency, room hire for both 1-1 therapies and group work as well as networking and training events for practitioners. We provide placements for student counsellors in Somerset, in order to offer low cost counselling to the community from £20-£50 per session, with an initial assessment fee of just £25. Depending on the needs of clients, we also work with qualified counsellors offering concessionary rates. We provide therapeutic room hire in Langport, with a variety of options including our take on hourly room hire for counsellors, therapists and mental health professionals, through to exclusive use offices. We are situated above a glassworks with the majority of the counselling rooms having beautiful views of the river - hence the name! ​ We have a larger group room for hire, suitable for training and workshops, perfect for facilitating group therapies, offering CPD courses or as a supervision group space. ​ Finally, we offer (and encourage!) networking events where practitioners can meet colleagues and peers, perhaps share training and build connections for peer supervision or self-care groups in a profession that too often can be quite isolating.
